Huge weekend for Sports Lovers, or for me anyway... !!!!

Post by RKipker on Sat Sep 05 2009, 04:47

Heya folks, I've been away for a while, mostly over at TFL... but I was wondering how many was excited about the three day weekend and the great sports line up on the tube.

First, my beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs play their first season game at 2:30pm central time on ESPNU

Then of course there is the US Open and the 2nd stage of the FedEx Cup. Not a huge golf/tennis fan, but I enjoy the best the game has to offer and this weekend are two good ones. Of course my DVR helps speed things up.

Next, there is the NASCAR National Wide and Sprint races on Saturday and Sunday nights in Atlanta

But Sunday is the Best... with both MOTO GP and World Superbike on Speed

Looks like the Garage may have to wait one more weekend, please rain so the wife doesn't bug me... lol!

BTW Alex, Love the new look for the site, hope all is well with you since you've been away! I tried once to wake these guys up, but they were in a coma or something... gddrama

I know nothing of these Bulldogs of which you speak! :?

The US open... If only there was some coverage in the UK! Sad Rupert Murdoch has annexed this along with just about every other sport. Mad I absolutely hate using foul language unless it is absolutely necessary and there is one word in particular that I detest the use of and the sound of... unfortunately it is the only word that describes RM adequately... He is a c censored t. punch He is also responsible for annexing the live coverage of the Superbikes but we do get highlights some days later.

I am looking forward to Misano though, the BBC is creating a big following for MotoGP so it won't be long before Rupert comes after that, he really does epitomise everything I despise about capitalism. fryingpan

    Thanks Alex... and Hello Snowy!

Mississippi State is the university (MSU or State) I attended in which our mascot is a bulldog or just simply "DAWG". Great memories!

Well, thanks to our poorly informed society in the US we're on our way to Capitalism with Mr. Obama. I hope he doesn't follow your Mr. Rupert's lead.

    side note:
I really enjoy watching seeing Tiger Woods, he is history before our eyes. Though it's almost shameful how win the man undergoes knee surgery, leads the FedEx cup race by as many as 1500 pts. and finishes second more times than not win he doesn't win out right is constantly ridiculed for playing poorly. DVR helps here tremendously!

Me too, I didn't want to confuse the issues, but I have ALMS, Indy, and Grand Am all recorded and waiting for me too!

The ALMS sucks except the return of the vettes.

    MOTO GO:
Valentino Rossi sunny is King of Moto GP :moped: and agreeably the fastest man ever to ride a motorcycle and definitely the most consistent. There are few men that stand in a class of there own!

Rossi, now 30pts up on Jorge, had a special helmet painted with a DONKEY on it since he crashed out last week while running second to Jorge.

OK.. Ben took Race #1 at the Ring in Germany! Jonathan Rhea took out Haga in race 32. Ben now leads the championship by 18pts. Ben has 264 pts. to Haga's 246'pts.

The Dawgs Won BIG with their new Coach Dan Mullen, who worked with the Florida Gators the last few years as Offense Coordinator. Running an offense with Tebow... MSU now has a running QB and the Dawgs look a little like the gators... Hoorah!
