Q: Mark, what about this McLaren performance? Do you think you can take the race to them
    tomorrow?
Mark Webber: Easy. We are not stopping tomorrow. We don’t do a pit stop. We just put the option on for the last lap and we jump them like that, so pretty straightforward.

Q: (Vajta Balazs – Autosport Es Formula) For all three drivers: the last two or three days
we’ve basically heard only positive words about the track: how great it is, the facilities and
everything else. I know it’s also very hard to name negative aspects about yourself, but can
you name or point out some negative points about the track?
MW: We’re paid lots of money to say good stuff, obviously. You know that we get backhanders to say that it’s a great track, so we’re not going to say anything negative. The deal is done before we all arrive, so 20 drivers, we get a backhander, easy from there! It’s a great facility, it’s a good track.

LH: (to the journalist) You should try and get in on it!

    Hehehe Smile

Q: (Vajta Balazs – Autosport Es Formula) But were you expecting a boring race because of
    the track layout?

SV: No, I don’t think so. As they said, you have a very long straight here and the key is that you don’t have high speed corners leading onto that straight like in Shanghai. You have a tight corner leading onto the back straight, but it opens up and then it’s difficult to follow other cars, whereas here you have the complex of five, six, seven which is quite low speed and then obviously the longer straight, leading into another low speed section, eight and nine, which gives you another chance if you’ve used the tow and then stay close to whoever is in front for turn eleven. As we’ve seen in the GP2 race and also the Porsche SuperCup race it should be a good race tomorrow. You are always smarter after a Grand Prix distance but it looks promising so far.

Where have all the manufacturer's gone?!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Honda gone, BMW gone, Toyota gone, and Renault too are considering their future in F1 with an emergency board meeting held yesterday as yet there has been no official announcement.

Ferrari have now accused the FIA of having waged war on the manufacturer's, forcing them to consider their futures in the sport. There is a lot of evidence to support this claim. Is it good for F1? Only time will tell but I suspect since it was the brainchild of Max Mosley only bad things will happen. The pinnacle of motorsport will become something else akin to... a laughing stock perhaps?

Ferrari compared the sport to the Agatha Christie detective novel
'Ten Little Indians' in which the murderer is not exposed until after
the other characters have been killed off.

So, Snowy... looks like we will have a smaller field than last time. Imagine the differences between Ferrari and McLaren to say US F-1 and other new startup teams.

It is quite interesting that niether BMW or Toyota are willing to sell their F1 teams, management buyouts for both teams are at present, completely out of the question. One factor that may well be influencing this kind of decision is the success of Brawn GP.

Toyota were arguably on the verge of getting it on and would have stood a far greater chance of winning a GP with the exit of Jarno Trulli - who whilst being a very able driver over one lap, has a proven track record of dozing off during races.

BMW could well have learnt their lessons this season and may have conceived a race winning car for next. The fate of Honda's management has not been made public but it is hard to believe that many have not had to fall on their sword over their premature ejaculation from Formula One.

The cost in jobs, livelihoods, skills, equipment and knowledge is likely to be very high just in order to save the faces of a few mean spirited faceless men in boardrooms.

    Why is Rubens leaving Brawn?

Who is teaming with lewis Snowy?

Will Masa and Alonso play well together?

    Is Buttons really that good?

Is any new drivers with team USA?

How many cars/teams will F-1 field in 2010?

Will 2010 be a good year for F-1?

How can the cars be very competitive with no fuel stops making them carry so much fuel?

Ross Brawn maintains that he is 99% sure Jenson will stay with BrawnGP however the team are unable to meet Jenson's wage demand. Instead they are offering him more flexability in his sponsorship dealings! The Gaudian reports that Jenson has been offered a seat at McLaren... Jenson's career seems dogged by these kinds of life and death decisions! detective

Is Jenson going to choose the correct path this time? meditate

I know it's not a decision I'd like to have to make! Shocked

What team would you chose if you were in Jenson's position? Basketball

    Stay with Brawn. 100% Decision.

Ross is a winner and now after 1 year having the Merc in the back, they can build the new car around the engine for the first time. The next BGP will be awesome I think.

Jenson will do the right decision together with Rosberg. They will push each other! Like DC and Mika in the past. I think they were one of the best teams in the past.

If I were Jensen, I would consider myself very lucky to have pulled out a Championship, I would not be demanding such unreasonable salaries and shit!

His track record is not that good... but I would go with McLaren, they have a proven track record.

Jenson's £8million demand is a third of what Kimi was getting and half what Lewis Hamilton gets so it isn't actually that unreasonable. I'm sure if Ross offered him 7 and a reasonable bonus for race wins and points I'm sure Jenson would have bitten his hand off. Seems strange that they haven't reached an agreement since they both claim to admire the other. scratchchin
