WTCC: Five cars for Engstler at Macau
Liqui Moly Team Engstler are going to run three extra BMW 320si in the World Touring Car Championship finale at Macau. The team will also run regular drivers Franz Engstler and Kristian Poulsen, meaning that the team will run a total of five cars in the final.

The three new drivers of the teams are all asian: Henry Ho, Liu Lic Ka and Joseph Rosa Merszei.

Merszei has driven a lot of single seaters, such as Formula Renault and Formula 3 in Asia.

Ka is more of a touring car man, competing regularly in the Macau Touring Car Championship.

Ho is also a touring car regular, having won the Macanese Touring Car Championship three times and has taken part in the WTCC before.

An official statement on the three drivers read:

"All examinations and scans were clear and the three drivers were discharged.
They will be checked again by the FIA doctor tomorrow at 17.00 in the circuit's medical centre to be cleared for racing on Sunday."

Thompson's accident was the biggest as he crashed in to the back of the stationary BMW of Stefano D'Aste (who had left the car earlier).

Muller and Tarquini's crashes were linked to Thompson's as Muller lost control on the slippery surface of the corner where Thompson had crashed earlier.

Tarquini was unable to detect Muller in time and crashed in to his team mate.

Many teams face a hectic time ahead of the two races on Sunday to be able to repair all the damage

Thommo and D'Aste won't be racing, shame as if its like last year and only 6 cars finish race 2, Thommo could maybe have kept out of the trouble and scored points

WTCC: Thompson and D'Aste out of Macau
James Thompson and Stefano D'Aste will not race in Macau - both cars are damaged beyond repair, and Thompson also sustained injuries ruling him out.

After sustaining bruises to his feet in the crash, Thompson will be on crutches and forced to observe. Title contenders Tarquini & Yvan Muller are cleared to race.

    Thompson said:
“I want to thank the medical staff, because they were very efficient and professional. And I also wish to thank Stefano D’Aste, who stayed with me all the time. I appreciated it a lot especially because after the crash I momentarily lost my sight. Having Stefano with me when I was transported to the hospital was very reassuring,”
